Willow Oak is native to moist soil habitats across much of eastern U.S. It is a fine park and street tree frequently planted on golf courses, in corporate parks, along avenues, and in residential areas. A notable planting occurs along I-85 in Spartanburg, SC at the Milliken Corporation headquarters. The willow-like leaves are speckled golden-yellow to reddish-brown in fall and the large rounded form are highly desirable landscape attributes. It is frequently harvested for timber.
