This evergreen tree was long cultivated in China and Japan. The Oriental Arborvitae is a common sight across the Southeast, especially in cemeteries. It is very heat tolerant, growing as far south as Key West, Florida! Oriental Arborvitae is best known from its dwarf, golden-leaved cultivars.
